About

Hi, my name is Richard Bedford and my passion is flight photography. My main interest is birds in flight and has been since the early 2000s. However, I also photograph insects in flight as they are fascinating. I have enjoyed success in competitions, including Birdguides Photo of the Year 2006 with a Sparrowhawk carrying a live Snipe (see the image to the right of this page) & I also won Birdguides Photo of the Year in 2009. I currently act as an RSPB Agency Bird Photographer, an honour I have had since 2012. I am a Chartered Surveyor by profession and have my own building surveying firm located in Suffolk. I share my life with Amanda, my partner, and our two much loved rescue dogs, Bertie & Poppy.
